Teens & Jeans 5K Walk:

Area Youth Help Raise Awareness About Homelessness

Riverdale, MD – Walk or run 5K on the Anacostia Tributary Trail System, and help bring awareness to hunger and homelessness in our community at the 10th Annual Teens & Jeans 5K Walk. With the holidays coming, local families have a chance to embrace the spirit of the giving season and help those in need by collecting clean, gently worn jeans of all sizes.

From Monday, October 15 through Thursday, November 15, residents are encouraged to donate clean, gently worn jeans of all sizes to any Department of Parks and Recreation community center. Donated jeans will be given to service organizations and shelters throughout the area.

Donations can also be dropped off during the Teens & Jeans Walk. The 5K Walk is a free family-friendly event that features activities, live entertainment, and refreshments. Families interested in participating in the Walk can register the day of the event on site.
