[ARCHIVED] A Joint Public Hearing on Proposed Designation of Historic Sites in Prince George's County

The Prince George’s County Planning Board of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission gives notice of a joint public hearing  to receive public testimony on the proposed designation of two properties in the County as Historic Sites.

Location: Council Hearing Room, First Floor, County Administration Building, 14741 Governor Oden Bowie Drive, Upper Marlboro, Maryland 20772

Date and Time:    Tuesday, June 20, 2017 - 6:30 p.m. 


Pursuant to provisions of the Land Use Article of the Maryland Annotated Code, as well as Subtitle 29 of the Prince George’s County Code, being also Subtitle 27 of the Prince George’s County Code, the County Council of Prince George’s County, Maryland, sitting as the District Council, and the Prince George’s County Planning Board of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission hereby give notice of a joint public hearing in order to receive public testimony concerning the proposed designation of two  properties in Prince George’s County as Historic Sites; specifically, the Duvall Tenant House Site (Archeological Site 18PR 1020) in Upper Marlboro, and the Scholz Mark ’ 64/Lang House (80-058) in Fort Washington, with the respective street address information as follows:                        

  1.  (18PR 1020) Duvall Tenant House Site (Heathermore Subdivision, Part of Parcel A, Tax Map Grid 00B2), Upper Marlboro, MD 20772
  2.  (80-058) Scholz Mark ’64/Lang House, 13506 Reid Circle, Fort Washington, MD 20744

Persons desiring to speak at the public hearing may also fill out a registration form available that evening in the hearing room.  Individual speakers and representatives from a group or groups will be limited to three minutes. Written testimony and/or exhibits will be accepted in lieu of, or in addition to, oral testimony. To be accepted into the record, written testimony or comments must be original, signed copies. E-mails or faxes will not be considered, unless followed by an original mailed to the Clerk of the Council, at the address indicated below.


Written testimony may be submitted through the close of business Wednesday, June 28, 2017, to the Office of the Clerk of the County Council, County Administration Building, Room 2198, 14741 Governor Oden Bowie Drive, Upper Marlboro, Maryland 20772.  A copy of the Historic Preservation Commission recommendations to the Planning Board and the District Council are available through the Historic Preservation Section of The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission.
