Department of Parks and Recreation in Prince George’s County Launches New Web Experience
Riverdale, MD – Today, M-NCPPC, Department of Parks and Recreation, Prince George’s County launched its redesigned www.pgparks.com with streamlined content and a more user-friendly web experience. Searching for programs, facilities and parks in Prince George’s County just got easier. Patrons are now able to use new tools like facility finder, trail finder, and park finder to help in their search.
Exploring programs and services for seniors and youth or classes and activities in sports, arts, and history is made easier with filters and tool bars. Visitors can access information and registration with fewer clicks. Notable improvements to the website include:
- ADA Tool Bar - adjust image contrast and saturation, increase text size or spacing, adjust line height, pause animations, hide images, and activate a dyslexia-friendly font.
- Search Bar – enter letters, words, terms for a more intuitive search for information.
- Translation Button – choose from multiple languages to explore programs and services on each web page.
- Park/Trail Finder - filter information according to zip code, park/trail name, amenities, activities, and rental options.
- Facility Finder – much like Park/Trail Finder, filter information by facility type, amenities, activities offered, and rental options.
- Events Page - search by date, location, name, or categories like visual arts, youth, and fitness & training with a direct link to registration.
