SUMMARY:Stepping with Step Afrika! (School Groups Only)
DESCRIPTION:This performance is part of our Education on Stage/Field Trip Series and is recommended for children in grades K-5. Step into rhythm and culture with Step Afrika in this high-energy arts integration performance. Students explore the history\, cultural significance\, and discipline of stepping\, while connecting movement to teamwork\, focus\, and academic achievement. The program highlights African traditions\, including the South African gumboot dance\, and concludes with a collaborative group activity where students participate in choreographed movement. Designed to support arts education\, cultural literacy\, and social-emotional learning to empower students to express themselves\, build relationships\, and experience the joy and power of dance firsthand. \n\n\n\nPlease note\, due to a scheduling conflict\, these performances have been rescheduled to March 25\, 2027; Step Afrika will not be performing on the original date of 4/13/27. Everyone must have a ticket to enter\, regardless of age.
