SUMMARY:The Unseen Archive Dr. Yemonja Smalls
DESCRIPTION:This exhibition runs from April 20 through June 7\, 2026. \n\n\n\nUsing paint\, collage\, papercuts\, and other media\, Yemonja’s intricate and colorful mixed-media works emphasize self-care. She aims to build through focused deconstruction and tenderly examine the process of holding\, even brokenness of spirit\, through reassembly.

SUMMARY:Melissa Burley: The Fragility of Things
DESCRIPTION:* This exhibition runs May 23–Jun. 21\, with a public reception on Fri.\, Jun. 12. * \n\n\n\n“We inhabit a time when things have become more fragile and urgently in need of delicate tending.”– William E. Connolly \n\n\n\nIn The Fragility of Things\, Burley reflects on vulnerability in an era shaped by uncertainty – environmental\, political\, and deeply personal. Drawing on natural forms like eggs and seeds\, her work explores fragility not as weakness\, but as a space where resilience and quiet strength can emerge\, inviting viewers to consider their own balance between growth and breaking.

SUMMARY:Lunchtime Listening with Sweet Storm
DESCRIPTION:Experience the rhythm\, culture\, and soul of D.C.’s blues scene. Sweet Storm delivers soulful\, heartfelt blues\, blending traditional and contemporary styles. Stormi Weaver (vocals\, guitar) and Willie Leebel (vocals\, guitar) have performed together at bars\, clubs\, art openings\, and private events for three years. Their collaboration also led to the formation of Stormi and the Blue Skies\, a five-piece acoustic group. They met through the Archie Edwards Blues Heritage Foundation and call each other music spouses.
