Based on Isabel Wilkerson’s 2020 book Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents, the film explores race, hierarchy, and how understanding caste systems can help us understand Black people’s experiences in America. Origin stars Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor as Wilkerson.
