Old Maryland Farm provides people with a unique opportunity to visit a farm and learn about animals and plants. Visitors will get a deeper understanding of how farms are important not only to their own lives, but to their communities and the local environment as a whole.

How to Schedule
Advanced registration is required for all group programs. Programs are available Tuesday – Friday, from 10 am to 3 pm, and are typically 45 minutes to 1 hour long. To better serve you and to ensure a quality experience please be advised that your program is only booked when you have received a confirmation email from the farm. For any questions, please contact the Old Maryland Farm.
- Group reservations require a minimum of 10 people.
- Groups larger than 30 will be scheduled over multiple time slots or days.
- Tentative dates must be confirmed within 5 business days. Afterward, unconfirmed dates can be offered to other groups.
Field Trip Description
Farm Tours (K- ESS3/K-LS1) – Come meet a farmer and all the farm animals they care for. Learn about what it takes to care for these animals, what they need to survive, and how you use these animals in your daily lives. This is a chance to participate in the feeding of our resident farm animals with a behind the scenes look at our horse stable.

Fees
- Programs at Old Maryland Farm cost $4 for Prince George’s and Montgomery County residents and $6 for non-county residents.
- We allow 1 free chaperone for every 5 students. Chaperones over the 1:5 ratio will be required to pay the program fee.
Parking
Buses must park in the Watkins Nature Center Parking lot. Students and staff can then walk over to the farm.
Lunch Facilities
The farm does not have eating facilities. You are welcome to bring your lunches and staff can reserve a picnic shelter for you nearby.
Cancellation & Change Policy
48 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or schedule changes. We will be glad to reschedule your program for a later date if possible. In the case of inclement weather or school closures, we will gladly work with you to reschedule.

School Farm Tours
Tours available for all students between grades K-12.
Students will learn about farm animals, various gardens, and general farm operations.
Farm Tour Birthday Party Package
Have your child’s birthday party at Old Maryland Farm! We provide the use of our meeting room for 3 hours, and a 30–45-minute farm tour. You supply the food, decorations, and fun! A great package deal that is suitable for ages 2-12.
Parties Include
- A 30-45-minute Farm Tour. This tour includes the chance for guests to feed some of the animals as well as visit our stable building to get up close and personal with our cows and horses!
- Parties can accommodate up 35 people (including children & adults)
- 3-hour use of our workshop room from 12-3 pm on a Saturday or Sunday. This time includes set up, party, farm tour, and clean up time.
- Use of our meeting room, which includes tables, chairs, sink, microwave, and refrigerator/freezer.

- Residents of all other jurisdictions: $312
*Proof of residency is required.
