Black History Month 2023 Exhibition: BLACK RESISTANCE! STORIES FROM PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY
Saturday, January 28 – Sunday, March 26, 2023

Women in Jazz Panel Discussion: The Value of Mentorship
Sunday, March 26, 2023, 2 pm
Join us as we celebrate Women’s History Month with another exciting panel discussion featuring leading women in jazz in the region. This year we focus on the topic of mentorship. Do female instrumentalists and vocalists get the same kind of career support commonly given to men? Do we have anything comparable to the “old boys” network to help our sisters find their way? Do women routinely think about asking for free professional help from other musicians, teachers, promoters, venue hosts, accountants, and other supportive businesspeople? This year’s panelists will talk about their experiences in the music industry. Bring your curiosity and questions and join us for a meet-and-greet reception after the panel program.
